Audience Analysis


Audience analysis is the process of gathering information about the people in your audience so that you can understand their needs, expectations, beliefs, values, attitudes, and likely opinions.


Types of Audience Analysis:


1. Demographic Information

Gather and use demographic data including:

- Age groups

- Gender composition

- Cultural background

- Religious beliefs

- Education level

- Occupation type


2. Psychographic Information

Understand the audience's:

- Values and beliefs

- Opinions and viewpoints

- Attitudes toward topics

- Personal preferences


3. Situational Information

Consider the communication context:

- Audience size

- Occasion or purpose

- Voluntariness of attendance

- Physical setting and environment


Techniques for Effective Audience Analysis:

3. Change the level of information to match audience knowledge
