Friedman and Roseman’s Classification of Personality



Friedman and Roseman classified personality into Type A and Type B, and both are opposite to each other.

Type A Personality

Type A personality is marked by being competitive, ambitious, and always in a hurry.

  1. People with this type often work hard.
  2. They set high goals.
  3. They can feel stressed if things don’t go their way.
  4. They may find it hard to relax.

Type B Personality

Type B personality is relaxed, easygoing, and less competitive.

  1. People with this type are patient.
  2. They handle stress well.
  3. They prioritise relationships over deadlines. They tend to be more creative and spontaneous.
